Caledonia

Located south of Hamilton’s Glanbrook neighbourhood is Caledonia, a thriving residential community known for it’s mix of beautiful urban and rural homes, including some that are centuries old. The neighbourhood of Caledonia lies on the Grand River, and is bordered by Hwy. 66 / Hwy. 6 to the north, 5th Ln. to the south, Onondaga Townline Rd. / Cayuga Rd. to the west, and Abbey Rd. to the east. There are five schools located in the neighbourhood of Caledonia; River Heights Public School, McKinnon Park Secondary School, Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School, Oneida Central Public School and Caledonia Centennial Public School. Caledonia features a number of picturesque parks and greenspaces, including the Caledonia Fairgrounds, Haller Heights Park, Seneca Park and Rotary Riverside Trail, the Caledonia Soccer Complex and the Kinsmen Park Pool and Trail. Caledonia hosts a charming downtown shopping district on Argyle St. N. featuring a variety of retail and commercial businesses, and such historical buildings as the Edinburgh Square Heritage and Cultural Centre and the Caledonia Town Hall.
